Hello, I’m Cristina Peterson, owner of Lucky Angel Animal Rescue. Caring and love for animals started early for me.

Caring and sharing love for animals started early for me...
I grew up in Romania, in a time and place where food was being rationed. Every morning after our mother went to work, my brother and I waited in line to get our ration of milk.
After we got the milk, we would go out to search for kittens or puppies at the garbage dumpsters near our home. We would bring the ones we found home with us, and feed them the milk.
My mother got worried about the amount of milk "we" were drinking. It wasn't until our house became infested with fleas did she realized that we weren't the ones consuming all the milk.
I always carried the love of animals in my heart, but I couldn't always act on it because my financial resources were limited.
My Journey to the USA
After I moved to the United States I started to look for ways to fulfill my dream and love for animals. I searched for organizations that helped animals in need in Romania. I found Romania Animal Rescue and became a donor and a volunteer.
In 2008 I went to Romania with the founder and worked alongside volunteers in spay/neuter clinics in many towns.
Lucky Angel - The Dog
The image at the top of the page shows the first time I met the puppy I called Lucky Angel. He was one of the many puppies and dogs living in that graveyard.
Lucky Angel came with me to the United States. I told him I would rescue as many dogs and cats as I could in his honor. I named my rescue after him and he still lives with me.
